European Colloquium “Localising European Security Policy: Cities and Regions for Security and Democracy”

Taking place in the run-up to the European elections, the colloquium will seek to stage exchanges and discussions on the role of cities and regions in the definition and implementation European security policies. The discussions will be organised in three thematic sessions: 1) EU and Municipalities - Towards a Co-Production of Urban Security 2) Polarisation, Radicalisation and Extremism - Prevention and Resilience and 3) Just & Safe Public Spaces - Improving Public Security for All. These sessions will be organised in the format of a “Fishbowl”, a forum in which invited speakers and the attending participants can engage in moderated discussions.

This event will gather representatives from Efus member cities and regions from across Europe - elected officials, local authority executives, magistrates, professionals in the field of security, as well as representatives of European institutions and agencies and civil society and will be open to the local public. We expect around 120-150 participants.
